Croydon2040

Croydon2040 is an interactive on-line strategy competition that provides an exciting way for young people to learn about strategic decision making, local government and democratic processes.  As part of the Imagine Croydon (link) project to create a 30 year vision for the future of the borough, we needed to develop an innovative approach to actively involving children and young people.

Croydon2040 puts teams of young people from schools, colleges and youth groups in the position of 'decision makers of the future'. Over a ten-week period, each team is presented with a series of decisions, incorporating issues such as health, environment and community cohesion, which will shape the way in which their Croydon develops.

Launching in September 2009, it will be both a vehicle for involving thousands of young people in Imagine Croydon, but also to bring together schools, colleges, the Council and other members of the Local Strategic Partnership together in an effective working partnership.

"The long term vision development for Croydon is an initiative driven by the council and its strategic partners through the Local strategic Partnership.

As part of developing a long term vision an one of the largest public consultation / engagement is being undertaken.  The Campaign Company are supporting and facilitating this process.

We are very pleased with the consultation work they have undertaken so far.  They have introduced some innovative and exciting methods of engagement such as the interactive wiki website, Sim City Game for schools and big brother type diary room.  Their approach to youth engagement is really exciting and innovative.  They have enthused people they have engaged with including all partner organisations.  One of the impressive attributes of staff of the The Campaign Company has been their flexible approach and willingness to facilitate events at short notice.

The Campaign Company  have throughout maintained professional relationship and I have no hesitation in recommending them to any organisation wishing to undertake any kind of engagement".
