Cumbria Primary Care Trust – consultation and communications support
TCC has been working with Cumbria PCT since July 2007 assisting them in their ‘Closer to Home’ consultation, which prefigures a major reconfiguration of healthcare services in the county. In addition to providing ongoing media relations and strategic communications support, we have provided specialist support to add value to the consultation in the following ways:

- qualitative research including focus groups to test the key themes of the consultation to inform the final consultation document;
- a 1000 person telephone survey to capture view of ‘seldom heard’ members of the public across the county;
- a relationship building project with key community and voluntary organisations to encourage the engagement in the consultation - particularly to achieve attendance at public meetings and open events and formal responses ;
- two discrete week long outreach project visiting locations across Cumbria to obtain qualitative feedback and contributions to the consultation from ‘seldom heard’ members of the public;
- two projects, in January 2008 - which specifically targeted young people in three secondary schools via ‘Steps to the Future’ events and a ‘Videoqube’ in Carlisle university
