GP commissioning conference
TCC's Jonathan Upton is speaking at NHS Cumbria's conference 'Clinical GP Commissioning - the Cumbria Journey' on 14th April.
NHS Cumbria are a national pilot for GP commissioning, and TCC are running a public consultation for the PCT and its GP consortia to find out changes residents would like to see, the worries they may have, and how they would like health communications to work. Based on this research, Jonathan will be speaking on 'the public voice in GP commissioning'.
We have carried out discussion groups with residents in each of Cumbria's six districts, and next week we are running two larger deliberative events with people who came to the original groups. We'll then be working with local health services to develop a set of indicators to find out how people's views of the new system change over he next few years.
