Job Title: Freelance Qualitative Analysts (Coders) & Field Researchers

Location: Croydon, London
Salary: £12.10/hour (Coders), £10.05/hour (Field Researchers)

Job Description:

The Campaign Company (TCC) is a social research consultancy. We support local authorities, the NHS, charities and businesses engage with and understand communities better. Our assets are our people and the insight we deliver for the organisations we work with.

We are looking to grow our pool of freelance qualitative analysts (coders) and field researchers. We welcome applications for both roles from individuals with the right experience and background.

The deadline for applying to both roles is Wednesday 13 September, 9am.

Qualitative analysts (coders)

We are looking to recruit several experienced Qualitative Analysts to join our team and support the delivery of our current and future social research projects.

Typically, these projects may involve formal and informal consultations run by local authorities and the NHS to understand the needs and concerns of local communities better and help improve service delivery.

You will be working as part of small team, coding and analysing open questions using Excel or Nvivo. There may be opportunity to be involved in reporting or writing up analysed data.

Field researchers

A challenging but rewarding role, field researchers are at the frontline of our work – gaining insight to help inform and improve our clients’ work.

You’ll be carrying out surveys on a variety of topics – from how to tackle mental health challenges to encouraging recycling or curbing smoking habits. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the practicalities of primary research and gain experience working on the front line with other researchers.

The work primarily involves carrying out surveys with members of the public in different parts of London and sometimes neighbouring counties. Some work may involve in-office tasks like administrative support and data entry.

Applicants should have experience working face to face with the public. It is important that you feel comfortable approaching members of the public proactively and talking about sensitive issues.

Applicants will have the opportunity to become field research Team Leaders (paid £12.10/hour). Team Leaders are responsible for overseeing and leading field research. They provide support to our field researchers, helping make sure targets are met and providing advice about how to build rapport with members of the public. They tend to have significant experience carrying out face-to-face research work.

Hours:

Field researchers and coders are employed on an on-going, freelance basis. The amount of work we can offer fluctuates significantly. Work is project-dependant – the duration varies from half a day to 10 days at a time. The frequency of work also varies – sometimes work comes up every week, sometimes there is little work available for months at a time.

Given the fluctuating amount of work available, the job is ideal for students and others with flexible working patterns looking for interesting supplementary work. Contracts are on a self-employed basis.
