Postcards from TCC
Everyone likes to receive recognition when they’ve done a good job, and TCC is no exception.
That’s why we were pleased when we saw the latest edition of The Marketer to find an in-depth case study on a campaign we ran last year. To read the full article click here (http://www.themarketer.co.uk/articles/case-studies/the-campaign-company/).In a display of optimism against the burgeoning economic crisis, TCC pioneered a campaign to raise their own awareness in a way which highlighted just what it is they do best – personalised communications.
A total of 1,250 saucy seaside themed postcards were sent to communications directors and the chief executives of unitary authorities, Primary Care Trusts and Foundation Trust hospitals throughout the UK. The postcard designs echoed those of the late Donald McGill, whose artwork was a staple icon of British seaside culture. Each of the postcards featured a handwritten message tailored to the recipient, which the entire TCC team was involved in writing. The messages highlighted the bespoke, personalised nature of the work that TCC carry out whilst also raising a much needed smile during a time of doom and gloom for our economy.
Five designs were painted by Sheffield artist Cecily Chua, featuring the hallmarks of the Donald McGill pastiche from bikini-clad women to muscle-bound lifeguards. The designs raised awareness of services that TCC offer; social marketing, foundation trust recruitment, patient choice, public engagement, community cohesion and audience insight. The quirky and original nature of the campaign has been attributed to several new projects being commissioned. “This last quarter has been our busiest and most successful ever and I believe this campaign helped us to achieve that,” says TCC Chairman Jonathon Upton. “The postcard campaign was an example of our ability to approach traditional problems with an innovative and original solution. Our expertise has rewarded us in the first quarter of this year with the largest contract we’ve ever had. We’ve broken a TCC record!”
We blogged about this project back last September - http://thecampaigncompany.wordpress.com/2009/09/10/saucy-postcards/
