TCC welcome Kevin and Debbie to the team of directors
TCC are delighted to welcome Kevin Huggins-Cooper and Debbie Coulter to our directors’ team.
Kevin and Debbie have been working with TCC across our Communities projects since 2009, and the move to appoint them as directors has strengthened our offering in this sector.
Debbie is the new Director of Equalities and Employee Engagement and Kevin is now Director of Public Sector Transformation. TCC is now offering a new range of services to help councils deal with budget cuts by redesigning public services, and Kevin and Debbie have been pivotal in developing this new and adaptable solution“You need an experienced and specialist team to help deliver this - and that's what you have with Kevin and Debbie,” says TCC Chairman Jonathan Upton. “They will be key leaders of the TCC team that will be able to assist Councils with the challenges that are to come.”
Kevin has over 25 years of experience within the public and voluntary sector in areas such as equality, engagement and diversity. He has six years of board level experience within the corporate centre of local government, leading council recovery and transformation. Previously, he played roles in many key developments at the Audit Commission.
Debbie is a staff engagement guru with an illustrious history as a very senior trade union official. She was the first woman to be elected as Deputy General Secretary of the GMB, and as such has a wide knowledge of industrial relations.
“The days when a simple percentage cut could be used to respond to budget cuts in an ‘across the board’ manner are long gone,” Jonathan continues. “What might be seen as rational or financially fair might well be seen as unfair by certain groups increasing disaffection and impacting on wider community cohesion.”
“Public bodies will need to work in a smarter way and do much more with less. In doing so they also need to take staff and members of the public along with them. Kevin and Debbie have a broad experience in achieving results and positive outcomes in this area of work."
