Croydon 2040 winners

TCC congratulate Croydon College, winners of the Croydon 2040 competition. The winning team were Croydon College, who won £1500 for their college.

Managing director David Evans, who presented the award, said 'Croydon College thoroughly deserved to win their prize, and we're delighted that so many students and teachers got involved so enthusiastically'.

Team member Hayleigh adds 'it was an inspiration to be involved in the competition. We have learned how tough decision making is, and how you need to compromise to get things done. I have made friends for life through this as well as learning a huge amount about how a big town like Croydon works'.

For each week of the competition, teams from schools and colleges were given realistic scenarios  and choices to make about the wellbeing and improvement of Croydon. Each week in the competition equated to three years, culminating in the year 2040. The competition was run as part of Croydon LSP's visioning project 'Imagine Croydon'.
