3 interns from the States join the TCC Team
TCC has been joined by three interns from the U.S.A. - Danielle Rivers, Sarah Reed, and Max Teschke. Max said:“Despite being temporary guests at TCC our work as interns at The Campaign Company does not boil down to some professional sounding euphemism for “chief coffee fetcher” or “copier machine assistant”. Instead, we interns are given substantive work to do with the other employees; and we are expected to be productive and creative contributors to the company and its clients.
Indeed, The Campaign Company employees have spent considerable time each day teaching us interns about different aspects of the company and inviting us to staff meetings and “webinars”. I think I can speak for all of the interns when I say that working at the TCC as been an interesting, informative, and genuinely fun experience.”
Max Teschke joined TCC on June 15th, and will be working on his projects until early July. Max is working on the Young Mayor Network and on Imagine Croydon. Both of these projects deal extensively with youth engagement.
Danielle Rivers has been interning with TCC since 10 June 2009 and will continue working on various projects until the end of July. Along with her work Young Mayor Network and on Imagine Croydon she has recently had the opportunity to work on the Diplomatic Dictionary that will be used as a reference page on the Young Mayor's site and Making Democracy Work, a campaigning wiki book run by TCC.
Sarah Reed joined the TCC in early June and has been working with on various participation projects where she has been utilizing her skills in public relations and global studies. Sarah has also been working with Danielle on the Diplomatic Dictionary.
Danielle said:
“There are always many different projects going on at the same time with different deadlines (and new ones popping up). This is important because it means that we interns—like the employees who work here—juggle many different tasks and projects on any given day. This makes for a dynamic and engaging work experience where there is always something to be done.”
