Issue based campaigns
Campaigning is not just a political term for politicians. Support for initiatives, policies, services, and even products require a campaign to raise awareness and win support. We can build a campaign around your specific issue or service to generate the results you are looking for.
Below is a list of projects we have worked on in this area. They are presented in more detail further down the page.
ACT: voices for change
Community and District Nursing Association (CDNA): developing a public profile
Connexions: political profile
EC1 NDC: community recycling
GMB: gambling campaign
Royal College of Midwives (RCM): bursary campaign
University of Central Lancashire (UCLan): medical and dental education
ACT: voices for change
We worked with ACT (the association for children with life-threatening or terminal conditions and their families) to launch their Voices for Change report. This involved carrying out the research, producing a DVD and organising a launch event at the House of Commons.
Community and District Nursing Association (CDNA): developing a public profile
We have worked with the CDNA on many of the big issues affecting the health service and, in particular, community-based practice. Through a specialised media relations service we have ensured that the CDNA are a leading voice on issues such as nurse prescribing, PCT reconfiguration and extending community based care.
Connexions: political profile
We have worked with both NACP (the National Association of Connexions Partnerships) and Connexions Partnerships in the Humber , West Yorkshire and North and North Yorkshire , to raise the profile of Connexions Partnerships amongst politicians. This work included organising a presentation and dinner with MPs and NACP representatives, and organising a parliamentary reception for young people to meet with their MPs and demonstrate how Connexions had benefited them.
EC1 NDC: community recycling
We worked with EC1 NDC (New Deal for Communities) to deliver a community recycling project to its extensive network of high density social housing. This included a programme of school outreach work as part of the EC1 Quick Wins initiative.

GMB: gambling campaign
The GMB trade union, which represents workers in the services industries, was concerned about jobs in the gambling industry following proposed deregulation. We worked with GMB officers, and their counterparts in the USA who represent casino workers, to research the issue and then lobby key decision makers. This helped ensure that the framework put forward by the government was sympathetic to good employers and good employment practices.
Royal College of Midwives (RCM): bursary campaign
The RCM commissioned us to create awareness among midwifery students of their campaign to institute a non-means tested bursary of £10,000 for all midwifery students. This work included research, developing campaign messages and creating campaign tools.
University of Central Lancashire (UCLan): medical and dental education
We are working with UCLan and a consortium of higher education providers to increase medical and dental education in the Cumbria and Lancashire region. This involves developing a communications strategy to manage their relationships with the community, politicians and other key stakeholders.
